Ten More Places to Teach English Online: 2021
More Online Teaching Jobs
Times are getting crazier by the day in this post covid world. Online English teaching job markets are appearing and disappearing faster than Covid variants. Especially in China.
Right now everybody is getting a bit worried from the news in China stating that there is a crack down for foreign English teachers working through online platforms. Many are saying the online bubble is bursting for the market but as history shows us, when one empire falls, another will take its place.
We are in the age of technology and we are still dealing with covid which is putting restrictions on teachers traveling across the world for new jobs and opportunities. With that being said, the demand for Online English Teachers will always be there. Just give it some time and you will see some new platforms making their way into the market to replace any that are disappearing. Where there is a demand, there will be an opportunity.
In the meantime, I have another list of online English teaching jobs that you can apply for while we watch the Chinese market disappear as fast as Covid did in Wuhan.
Buckle up and take another ride down ESLWild’s list of jobs for all the fellow online English teachers out there who are on the hunt for people who suck at English. Because that’s how we make our money! 🙂 haha
Teach English Online
Before we get into another list of Job opportunities for online ESL teachers, let’s remember a few tips and resources for teaching English online.
Before you buy loads of subscriptions to help organize your classes, remember… The internet is full of free goodies to help us along the way. Sometimes you just have to dig a little deeper.
I would recommend looking into Easyclass.
This non-profit and free online teaching platform is a complete learning management system. It helps teachers with everything from scheduling classes, tracking due dates and assigning classwork, to running quizzes and offering feedback.

Setting expectations for student behavior
Kids can be freaking crazy! I’ve had kids bully each other and some kids who would just do weird stuff to get attention from the other students like drooling all over the screen of the iPad. Things get weird when teaching English online but try your best to set guidelines to ensure the best behavior possible.
Some kids are natural-born psychos and you’ll see that but most just need some structure.
It’s also a good idea to discuss the advantages of distance learning and address any doubts they might have, especially when it comes to technology.
Collaberate with other English teachers
There are a number of popular international Facebook and LinkedIn groups you can join for free. Make sure to introduce yourself to your fellow members and spread your ideas and creativity.
- Innovative teachers of English (Facebook)
- Teachers of English (Facebook)
- ELT Professionals (LinkedIn)
- ESL International (LinkedIn)
