I was living in North Carolina, USA with almost no money. I couldn’t even afford heat in my apartment. In the winter I would open the oven and sit by the orange glowing light while sipping whisky to warm me up enough to go to bed. Then I got my TEFL certification and sold my car to buy a one-way plane ticket to China.
