non native teacher

10 online companies that hire non-native English teachers

Let’s be honest. Some of the most dedicated and well-prepared teachers out there come from countries with English as their second language. While I was teaching in China, I had many amazing colleagues that came from Ukraine, Russia, and South Africa and I must say, they were killing it! Many days they were sharing different techniques and games for the classes with me to improve my lesson plans.

Note* It’s always good to be TEFL certified and have a reliable laptop, WIFI, and headset.

Without any further ado, let’s get into it.

  2. Do not work with Skyeng. I applied cause it seems that the company provides you with students and you don’t have to do the searching process but all they added to my schedule is one student during the time of two weeks. Having me open time slots in my schedule when l should be available for 20hours weekly and paying me nothing expect for the 4,3 dollars of the one student lesson l had.

It’s a waste of time and efforts on their application and training. Plus their pay rate is super low 4,3 dollars for 50mn.

There are better companies out there.

  3. Try TUTOROO. It is a marketplace connecting students with qualified tutors. They are looking for more part-time English tutors who can teach online or in person. Just register your profile on their site at https://www.tutoroo.co/signup-as-a-private-language-tutor and they will help you find your students. You can choose your hours and set your hourly rate depending on your qualifications and experience. Visit their site to learn more. Hope this helps!

  4. Don’t work with Waijiaoyi, they do not pay and owe a lot of money to their teachers. I am one of them.
